In the age of new and engrossing intellectual properties coming from the likes of Sony Interactive Entertainment and Square Enix, many of Sega’s most prominent franchises referenced is of the older series released more than a decade prior. However, successors are surely on the rise from that. Games like Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is a prime example as even jet Set Radio composer Hideki Naganuma is involved with the new title.
However, remakes are also part of that answer as well. Publisher Future Entertainment in association with Sega is responsible for Panzer Dragoon II Zwei: Remake that is arriving later this year. Additionally, the firm is branching to other publishers for its projects. In that, Future Entertainment scored an agreement with Square Enix to work on several, unnamed remakes.
But regards to Sega once again, the firm in its most recent Sega Sammy financial report shares that the publisher is looking to pursue potential remasters/remakes/reboots for more than a handful beloved properties from Sega’s arsenal. You can view the slide in the image below:

Reading the slide reveals that intellectual properties such as Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Space Channel 5, and Virtua Fighter are remarked in the report. However, the opportunity is also tossed up for active properties as well including Sonic the Hedgehog, Yakuza, and Shin Migami Tensei.
Earlier this year, one report surfaced which disclosed initial plans for a Sonic Adventure remake in the development pipeline. However, the project ended up going top-sided internally and never materializing. The report indicated remakes for Sonic Adventure & Sonic Adventure 2.
Elsewhere, Atlus is adamant to return to older releases as per previous polls casted by the publisher. As per an earlier earnings report, Sega reiterates that it is investigating which Atlus-developed titles are worth remastering for other platforms. You can read the full report by heading here.
