The momentum that trailed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order surely made publisher Electronic Arts happy when the November-released title was reported to be one of the most financially successful launches in history for the firm alongside astonishing PC release figures with the game being EA’s debuting return to Steam. The title coming from Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment surely ensued that players could expect a new installment to follow the glowing reception of the new experience.

In a recent bulk of news that was released by Battlefront II studio DICE, the development team shares that the releasing update for the 2017 sequel will be of its last as coming additions will be siphoned through the form of XP weekends and weekly challenges. Following the announcement, recognized Star Wars Instagram account Bespin Bulletin offers clarification on the future of Electronic Arts’ future plans with the Star Wars publishing license.

On the matters of Jedi: Fallen Order, the firm tells that Respawn Entertainment is already planning to release the follow-up entry in a couple years from now. In 2022 to be exact, the game is expected to release months following the anticipated ‘Project Maverick’ from EA Motive. The previously reported, unannounced title is framed to be a “combat flight simulator,” sparing more detail on the title.

As I have exclusively reported in the past, EA’s next Star Wars games are EA Motive’s combat flight simulator – Project Maverick releasing in 2021, in 2022 we will see the sequel to Respawn’s Jedi: Fallen Order and in 2023 the deal between EA and Lucasfilm comes to an end.

Furthermore, with the closure of the publishing agreement, likeliness of a new game will not come unless another deal comes to fruition to further expanding both pre-existing series. That if a new agreement does not establish as anticipated, the last game will be from Respawn Entertainment.

On the matters of DICE’s Battlefront first-person series, the Instagram account tells that the Swedish team has already shifted focus from ongoing Battlefield V & Battlefront II onto the approaching 2021 Battlefield entry. And while the war-centered shooter will be the focus for the following year, Bespin Bulletin suspects that the next battlefront installment won’t arrive until 2024 or potentially 2025.

Stating that the chances to be “hypothetical” as the perchance do not look likely from their point of view. Concluding, the Instagram page solidifies that plans for a third Battlefront game is not part of DICE’s current playbook and the opportunity for a third installment does not look to be in favor as of yet.

Regarding the legitimacy of the claims made, it is suggested to take each with little truth until properly disclosed y either the respected studio or publisher Electronic Arts. Do you think Electronic Arts could obtain a new deal with Lucasfilm following 2023?
