It was just this past August during the first Indie World presentation at Gamescom that developer Ukiami Games announced that pixelated dungeon crawler Skellboy will be coming to Nintendo Switch later this Winter. However, the game was planned to launch on December 3, but was unfortunately met with an abrupt change of plans just a week before the game’s initially scheduled release.

In a press release provided by the game’s publisher Fabraz , the game did face some obstacles that required the team to need another month before the game officially ship, pushing the release into January next year.

“Due to unforeseen complications we had to delay the release of Skellboy,” the joint document from the development team and publisher reads. “It will no longer release December 3rd but instead in January.” Despite the newly arranged timeframe for the title to release, The Fabraz Company nor Ukiami Games disclosed an approximate date for when the game will arrive next month.

Fortunately, the publisher did state that due to the recent change of plans that Skellboy will launch with a 10% discount to compensate for the lengthened wait time. Interesting enough, the title is also listed for PC following the Switch release: but seeing that the Steam version was scheduled to release in 2020 as well following the initial Switch launch for December, it is expected that the PC port will come later as well.

Speaking with the studio at PAX East earlier this year, the game’s Composer Bjoern Schellin shared with me that atop of the already developed set of side quests available in the game, that more are also planned to arrive in a post-launch update for the game later down the line.
