At San Diego Comic-Con, Sony announced a brand new PlayStation 5 limited edition console themed around Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The console features a custom PS5 console cover design and matching DualSense wireless controller. The Spider-Man 2 console will be releasing on September 1, 2023.

The design of this console is inspired by Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in-game symbiote.

“The design was inspired by the in-game symbiote that’s taking over the console and controller, but you can still see some of the underlying red under the tendrils. This represents the various ways players will experience the symbiote takeover in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. It’s a constant push and pull for dominance whether it’s internal or external and the outcome is not certain.”  – Jacinda Chew, Senior Art Director, Insomniac Games

If you can’t afford the console you’ll be able to purchase the Spider-Man 2 DualSense controller separately. With the DualSense controller you’ll feel the action of web-swinging using the adaptive triggers, while haptic feedback provides responsive vibrations.

Along with the PlayStation 5 console, Sony is giving consumers the option to purchase a Spider-Man 2 PlayStation 5 Console Cover.

Pre-orders for all of these items will begin on July 28. Players in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Austria, Portugal directly from the PlayStation Direct or at your local retailers.

The Spider-Man 2 PlayStation 5 console, DualSense and Cover will release ahead of the games launch on September 1, 2023. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 from Insomniac Games will release on October 20th exclusively for PlayStation 5. In June, Sony release pre-orders for the Collector’s Edition which will cost $229.99 USD.

The PlayStation 5 console will come with the game itself which can be redeemed with Spider-Man 2 releases.
