For nearly two years, fans have been excited to discover that a sequel for Marvel’s Spider-Man is on the way. Not only will Miles Morales will be joining alongside Peter Parker, but Venom is to stand as a pivotal part of the plot for the follow-up title. Previously, developer Insomniac Games confirmed Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will ship in 2023.

However, the firm went on to confirm and re-affirm that the game is still aiming for a release sometime later this fall. Additionally, the game was also shared to be strictly single-player. While fans hoped the new installment would incorporate some form of co-op with the webhead duo, the developer confirmed that not to be the case more recently.

At Summer Game Fest, Insomniac Games officially revealed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is prepped to ship come October 20th. More on the matter of the game during the presentation, it was also unveiled that the role of Venom will stray from its familiar path. In that, Eddie Brock, the main host for the symbiote, will not be a featured character in the sequel.

Furthermore, details on pre-orders was also revealed on PlayStation Blog. “In addition to our launch date, we are excited to walk you through your options for experiencing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Pre-orders will open on June 16th, 2023 at all participating retailers, PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Direct. Pre-Orders will go live at 10:00 AM local time on June 16, 2023.

“Fans who pre-order any version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will receive an early unlock Arachknight Suit for Peter with 3 additional color variants, an early unlock Shadow Spider Suit for Miles with 3 additional color variants, an early unlock Web Grabber gadget, and 3 skill points to get you started!”
