1047 Games, the developers behind the Halo meets Portal game, Splitgate officially announced that Splitgate 2 will be releasing in 2025. The announcement came in the form of a cinematic trailer and the game looks like it has more of a story and it could be a large upgrade of its predecessor.
In Splitgate 2 you will fight in an arena with 100,000 fans watching two teams face off against each other. Based on the trailer, gameplay looks to be the same featuring portals and weapons. For the first time, we also see characters without their helmets on which can give players more of a connection to them.
Could there be a single-player mode coming to Splitgate 2? That remains to be seen.
Suit up and portal into the action as an elite Ace in Splitgate 2. Dash around the battlefield as the agile Aeros, control the chaos as the time-manipulating Meridian, or devastate your opponents with Sabrask’s raw power. Take control on Ozone–a flying super yacht –while your friends hold off the other team portalling in from all sides. Find your moment, then claim victory and the spotlight as the roar of 100,000 fans fills the stadium.
Splitgate 2 is currently planned to release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
It was announced in 2022 that 1047 Games started to focus on a new game set in the Splitgate universe and we are starting to see that project come to life.
