Although it should have been now that players would be controlling their favorite Marvel superheroes, Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal are still hard at work at the exciting Marvels Avengers game. But not all is lost in this wait for the game’s release as it was only last month that the studios shared an in-depth look at the story, its antagonist, and even spared a glimpse at how co-op will work in the full game.

But with that in mind, you would be happy to learn that you will actually be able to play it in just a few short weeks, Square Enix announced today. On Twitter, the publisher posted on the Marvel’s Avengers account sharing a schedule of times for platforms receiving access to the upcoming beta for the game.

Elsewhere when speaking to IGN, Crystal Dynamics’ Creative Director Shaun Escayg expands more on the contents of the coming beta. He elaborates by sharing that portions of the single player story, co-op experience, and overall progression to be available in the approaching playtest. “We built the beta in such a way that you can experience most of things that you’ll be doing in the full game.”

Escayg adds, “this beta is meaty, but it’s only a small part of the finished game.” Let’s hope that statement aligns with the context of the beta when it ships later on next month. Currently, fans have been met with mixed feeling on the game watching the showcases presented since its announcement last year. Hopefully, the beta will change their minds for this coming September.

Recently, Square Enix disclosed that fans unsure about the game at launch can rethink the offer when the next-generation systems launches later on; confirming that Marvel’s Avengers will ship day one for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. You can read the full report by heading here.
