Although developer Undead Labs shipped its latest zombie survival title State of Decay 2, the developer has been very involved these past few months in recent reports. It was disclosed back in November that the studio was working on a Steam version of its ongoing sequel set to arrive later on in March of this year.

The month following games announcement for the Valve-operated storefront, Undead Labs shared that it would be opening a second studio in New Orleans, Louisiana. The ambitions of the new post in the heart of the south to look in-search for new personalities to join the team for new, upcoming projects. Undead Labs’ Jeff Strain even referenced perhaps finding “someone with the vision for the next State of Decay.”

Well, it looks that the studio found what it was looking for as the firm just seven months since the formation of its New Orleans branch has announced State of Decay 3. You can view the announcement trailer in the video below:

Presuming that the team is in early stages of development from the previous statement and only sparing a cinematic trailer, there is not much more to expand on the announcement as of writing. Microsoft only provided a brief synopsis for the title: “The next evolution in State of Decay is currently in development, bringing fans the new ultimate in zombie survival simulation,” the overview reads in a recent blog post.

Looking ahead on what State of Decay 3 will have to offer will surely be interesting. Following the release of the sequel back in mid 2018, the game was reported to accumulate more than one million players in its first two days of launch. You can read the full report by heading here.
