Steam Summer Sale 2020

Steam launches annual Summer Sale for 2020

Another year, thus another huge Steam Summer sale for 2020 is currently underway. After yesterday’s unexpected Sonic sale (if you missed it, your loss), Steam is giving PC gamers the yearly summer sale. If you’re a veteran PC gamer, then this needs no introduction. But if you’re new and wondering why this is such a big deal, check out some of the insane deals for each genre. And that’s for starters.

If you’re into fighting games, then the Street Fighter franchise is the one to look into first. Games such as Street Fighter V ($7.99 base), Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 ($7.49), Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite ($9.99 base), Street Fighter X Tekken ($5.99), Ultra Street Fighter IV ($7.49), and Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection ($14.79) are the ones to get.

If you’re into side-scrolling action, check out the Mega Man franchise. Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 + 2 ($13.26) are the first 10 “classic” Mega Man games during the retro heyday. Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 ($19.98) are for those that want more intense action.

For 3D action gamers, Batman: Arkham Asylum ($4.99) really makes you feel like Batman as you try to outwit Joker’s thugs and lieutenants to regain control of, well, Arkham Asylum. The game is over 10 years old, but it’s still fun to play.

FPS games are king when it comes to PC gaming, so try Bioshock ($4.99). Innovative storytelling involves you going through Rapture, an underwater, laissez-faire city-state fighting splicers and Big Daddies. Main antagonist, Andrew Ryan, also has one of gaming’s most infamous twists and quotes. Or you can buy the entire trilogy, Bioshock: The Collection, for less than $12 ($11.49) for huge savings.

RPGs are also huge in the PC department. Dragon Age: Origins – Ultimate Edition ($7.49) lets you fight as a Grey Warden in a civil war involving humans, elves, dwarves, darkspawn, etc. until fighting the archdemon. Game involves a lot of choices, and you can carry them in later Dragon Age games. Choose carefully.

This very partial list doesn’t do the summer sale justice. There are many more games to pick, but if you’re a budget gamer, try to browse as many games as possible before making any purchases. But most importantly, have fun!

Steam Summer Sale ends on July 9th, 2020 at 10AM PT.
