In the ongoing venture for Sony Interactive Entertainment & Sony Pictures to manifest more PlayStation properties into new mediums, the firm was reported to be establishing even more productions. We already knew about The Last of Us, Uncharted, and Twisted Metal. However, three more were revealed this past May: God of War, Gran Turismo, and Horizon Zero Dawn. Details were light as for when release will be available for each respective project.

It was in a later report from Deadline that Umbrella Academy showrunner Steve Blackman will be involved with the coming Horizon Zero Dawn film at Netflix. Even more, Michelle Lovretta that worked with Blackman on Umbrella Academy is also attached to the new PlayStation Productions motion picture too.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, David Harbour (Stranger Things, Black Widow, Hellboy) is to star in the coming Gran Turismo live-action production. Additionally, Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium) is set to direct the new film.

As one of PlayStation’s longest standing and most beloved franchises, it’s great to be partnering with Columbia Pictures again to bring Gran Turismo to life in an exciting way. We can’t wait for audiences to see Neill’s vision of this inspiring true story of gamer turned professional race car driver.
