As for what makes this new entry to the series unique is the highly-requested Franchise Mode. Similar to what fans experienced in the first game, players can orchestrate their own team over a handful of season and take on new immersive traits like player aging and free agent signing/releasing.
Other additional aspects new to Super Mega Baseball 3 if offering up to 14 playable stadiums with a responsive day/night lighting system, more in-depth team customization, and fully-supported cross-platform play. However, cross-play will only be available in the game’s Pennant Race mode, assuming other game types will only offer matchmaking on the respected platform. And unfortunately, fans on the current game cannot transfer rosters to the new title.
