Although Electronic Arts is most recognized for its annual sports game titles, the firm is currently reworking the formula for said titles. Recently, the firm officially announced EA Sports FC to replace the decade-long series, FIFA. While details are still sparse on the new direction the firm plans with its soccer/futbol IP, more information is promised for this summer.

Additionally, Electronic Arts is also experiencing once again with baseball as well. Howbeit, it is not as grounded as its other games. Instead, the firm with its acquisition of Metalhead Software brings the Super Mega Baseball series to the publisher. Now, Super Mega Baseball dons the EA Sports moniker alike Madden NFL & NHL.

This week, Electronic Arts & Metalhead Software officially revealed Super Mega Baseball 4 and the release date is roughly a month away. It also marks the first ever cover athlete for the game with Hall of Famer David Ortiz. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:

Baseball Hall of Famer David Ortiz also adds: “It’s an incredible honor to be the first cover athlete for Super Mega Baseball and to be recognized as a baseball legend in the game alongside hundreds of other icons in our sport for the first time in the series. Super Mega Baseball 4 is going to be an amazing and fun experience for fans that truly captures the humor and personality of baseball.”
