For Super Monkey Ball, the latest entry – Banana Rumble – answers many of what players loved about the series. “Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble is another classic game in the series with plenty of replay value,” Rectify Gaming wrote for its review; scoring the game an 8/10. “It features a large online mode, which, while not hugely impressive, is a nice addition.”
Additionally, the new installment also came with the biggest DLC support for the series to date. At launch, it was confirmed more than a handful of added characters will be featured for Banana Rumble. This included Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Axel and Beat. And now with the holiday season now here, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble is also on discount for 30 percent the original price currently.
This week, RGG Studio & Sega rolled out Update 2.0 for Super Monkey Ball: Banana Rumble including even more added characters as well – Godzilla & Hatsune Miku. You can watch the new trailers in the videos below:
“Super Punchy Brawl is a new multiplayer game that will be added to Battle Mode as part of the 2.00 update. Here, players can send their opponents flying by knocking them off the map with a big boxing glove! Players can use panels scattered around the stage to buff their boxing gloves up to two times to make punches even stronger, increasing the amount of damage caused,” the press release reads.
“They can also store damage from an opponent’s punch up to two times – the more damage stored, the easier it is to knock opponents away. The player with the most points at the end of the round wins! Furthermore, a new stage has been added to the existing Banana Hunt game. […] A quick retry feature has also been added that allows players to immediately restart a stage without pausing the game. Plus, when you’re playing Adventure Mode with friends, you won’t have to disband your room anymore when going between Worlds.”
The developer also shared that other added features are being introduced in Update 2.0. On X, it was shared that a new first-person mode is also debuting with the new update this week. And, there is also a new Dole collaboration which is now live for players to obtain licensed apparel to wear in-game too.
