Although the Netflix giant is still a massive entity in the world of content streaming, the firm is also tapping into video games as well. The enterprise already capitalized on transmedia adaptations with TV shows & movies, but actual gaming as well is being integrated into its platform. So far, the firm has continued its acquisition plans with the most recent being for Spry Fox back in November.
Not to mention its other plans established with Ubisoft. In that, the firms made a new agreement to ship three titles exclusively for Netflix: Mighty Quest, Valiant Hearts 2, and a new Assassin’s Creed release. This comes in part to the firm’s approach in offering a free gaming tab to subscribers of its streaming service.
In a new discovery this week, Tribute Games’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is now tied into this as well. Already available for major platforms including Xbox Game Pass, the game is hitting Android & iOS now as well.
However, this is not a simple mobile launch. Instead, the summer 2022 release is arriving to both mobile platforms through Netflix’s domain. In that, those subscribed to the service will gain access to the game. When scanning over the Google Play Store listing, it references Netflix Inc. as the publisher rather than Dotemu which backed the initial release.
“Kick shell with Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo or other familiar friends in this totally tubular ’80s-inspired beat ’em up. Cowabunga! They’re lean, they’re green and they’re mean! Battle as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to foil Krang and Shredder’s latest twisted…” the description for the game reads on the page.
Are you surprised by the mobile release for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is out now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS.
