The Last Of Us Part I Leaks Online For September 2nd Release, Also Listed For PC

While many can recall the turn of the generation for the PlayStation 3, the most surprising was the bang that was Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us which launched that summer before. The title brought enough influence that there is a television show in the works slated for next year from HBO. However, the game is on the way to return in a new light.

Last year, Bloomberg reported that a small team under the PlayStation banner – Sony Interactive Entertainment Visual Arts – is working on a remake for the 2013 release. The project was originally to remake the first Uncharted game, but switched to The Last of Us as the team was absorbed by Naughty Dog. In a separate report this January, it was indicated the game is already primed for a release later in 2022.

Ahead of this year’s Summer Game Fest on Thursday, The Last of Us Part I has leaked online via PlayStation Direct. While it is not confirmed to be at the show, host Geoff Keighley did acknowledge the announcement in a tweet. Thankfully, Gematsu archived most of the listing before it was taken down. You can watch the trailer in the video below:

“Experience the emotional storytelling and unforgettable characters of Joel and Ellie in The Last of Us, winner of over 200 Game of the Year awards and now rebuilt for PlayStation 5.Enjoy a total overhaul of the original experience, faithfully reproduced but incorporating modernized gameplay, improved controls and expanded accessibility options. Plus, feel immersed with improved effects and enhanced exploration and combat,” the description read.

It continues,  “The Last of Us Part I includes the complete The Last of Us single-player story (PS5) and celebrated prequel chapter, Left Behind.” More eye-opening is that the game is also receiving a PC version as well, but, it not listed for a release date yet. A Firefly Edition was also listed, but the contents is unknown as of reporting.

On the matter of other PlayStation games coming to PC. Marvel’s Spider-Man is slated to hit the platform next month. Additionally, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is scheduled to ship for PC as well later the fall. You can read the full report by heading here.
