
Looking to this week, The Pokémon Company is planning big for its annual Pokémon Day celebration. Of course, it is no secret that the Japanese firm is collaborating with an American music artist to partake in 25 years of Pokémon. In that, Post Malone will be holding a virtual concert which is said to take place on Saturday, February 27.
Ahead of that, The Pokémon Company issued that there will be a brief 20 minute Pokémon Showcase held on Friday. Already, fans learn that the beloved Nintendo DS Pokémon Diamond & Pokémon Pearl are being remade. The 2007 duo, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Pokémon Shining Pearl, are said to arrive sometime in late 2021.
As for other bombastic announcements, The Pokémon Company continues the trend with the Sinnoh region. This time, it takes place during the feudal era of the territory in Pokémon Legends Arceus. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:
“You’ll be brought to the Sinnoh region, the setting for the Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl games. But this story unfolds in a long-gone era, before ideas such as being a Pokémon Trainer or having a Pokémon League even existed.” The synapse on the game’s website continues, “all around, you’ll find Pokémon living wild in harsh environments that make for a Sinnoh unlike the region you may remember from the days of the Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl games.”
While both Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Pokémon Shining Pearl will feature its expected trio of starters, Pokémon Legends Arceus hosts its own unique cast despite being in the same region. The Pokémon Company issues that Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott are to be the inaugural Pokémon to choose from at the start.
