“With Game Pass we’re obviously bringing in, y’know, probably the biggest audience we’ve had for a launch,” Howard explains in terms of Starfield launching on the service. “And so it just makes you really fortunate to know you can take these kind of risks with a game like this and and be ambitious and still know that its going to get into a lot of people’s hands.” He goes on to comment regarding the longevity for Bethesda’s titles retaining engagement years down the line.

“Y’know, people say they love the game. And they think all games go through a couple phases like this phase where the game isn’t out yet and what people think of it, y’know. What do they think of it the first week it comes out. But then you gotta think about what do they think after about a year; what do they think about after year two. And so I hope that, y’know’ that it stands the test of time like our other games. I don’t focus on the number of users in that way.”
