Tokyo Game Show 2021 Online Preparation Livestream Kicks Off This Week, Full Event Starts September 30th

Like clockwork, each year delivers a new video game show to continue the tradition that the last left off at. Even while COVID-19 infringes on attendees, exhibitors, and vendors from physically being at these live, in-person events, organizers have resulted with digital experiences since. Namely, we already witnessed E3 back in June alongside PAX Online which took place in July the month following.

Just this past week as well did we witness Gamescom also implement a similar approach atop of its titular Gamescom Opening Night Live that swelled reception in anticipation for the rest of the week-long event. Now summer coming to a close means that the Tokyo Game Show is just among us now. And like in 2020, the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association plans to host this year’s show online once more.

On Twitter, the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association shared that the first livestream is to take place on September 1st, and shares the full schedule for the show following. Here is an excerpt from the Tokyo Game Show website for this year’s show:

2021. TOKYO GAME SHOW celebrates its 25th anniversaries.
Where will the game go in the next 25 years?
How will life change when the game changes?
Because of this time, TGS wishes to create a place where all the people who grew up with the game can be gathering regardless of their position or age.
The various things that will be born there will surely become an ale for tomorrow.
This year, TGS recreates the new TOKYO GAME SHOW.
With such enthusiasm, TGS creates a lively future from here with everyone who likes games.

Additionally, there is also to be a virtual tour of the Makuhari Messe show floor that viewers can experience then. “Now in its 25th year, tokyo game show, the largest game event with more than 200,000 visitors every year, will be held online in 2021! […] While the trial and exhibition booths are not visitable by general visitors, his online experience tour guide will tell you the heat of the venue live,” the organizer share.

Elsewhere previously, Blizzard Entertainment for its in-person 2021 show has been canned. However, the firm went on to announce that a new show is to be taking place later on in early 2021 through the means of online hosting. You can read the full report by heading here.
