Tom Holland’s Uncharted Film Rescheduled Again, Now Arriving In July 2021

The background regarding Sony Pictures and now PlayStation Pictures’ Uncharted film is pretty lengthy to be blunt. It has been more than a decade since the initial announcement of the project, several director, release windows, and the movie still has yet to arrive to the box office. The movie most recently was told to be arriving in March of next year, but the project was then bumped to October instead last month.

Now according to a new report from The Hollywood Reported, the production will actually be arriving sooner than anticipated. In correlation with other big budget productions taking priority like Tom Holland’s third Spider-Man film and a follow-up to Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse, the video game adapted film also happened to be mentioned in the new dispersed by Sony.

The upcoming Uncharted production starring Tom Holland as the series’ protagonist Nathan Drake and mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan has now been lightened on its wait. Sony tells that instead of the already established October 8th release for the film in 2021, the picture will now arrive at an earlier date falling on July 16 three months prior.

The more distant date was initially scheduled due to the overflow in delays that took place last month sourcing from the novel coronavirus. However, the new slated release looks to be a readjustment for the production now that more evaluation went into consideration to determine that October might be a bit of an over shot for the project.

As of yet, the production still helms no standing director for the Uncharted film. The last to take on the decade-old project was Bumblebee director Travis Knight. Howbeit, the film might still be in good hands according to the leading actor. Tom Holland shared with IGN back in February to be very impressed with the script he read earlier this year.
