Expressing excitement for the return of a long-awaited series is what happened when Back 4 Blood was launching back in October. Although the game is not Left 4 Dead officially, many aspects of the new release encases and further improves on the core formula of the original series for the modern audience. Even more, the game is ensured a steady flow of players being confirmed to launch on Xbox Game Pass at the time.
From our review, critic David Rodriguez told his time playing, “Back 4 Blood separates itself from the pack with it’s take on Left 4 Dead, using huge bosses and set pieces to complement hordes of zombies an recreating the combat balance. […] Tons of replay value and great challenge make Back 4 Blood a fantastic co-op experience that shouldn’t be missed.”
This week, Turtle Rock Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment shares in a press release that Back 4 Blood has accumulated more than 10 million players since release. Additionally, its first expansion ‘Tunnels of Terror’ is arriving next month. You can view the featured image for the DLC in the image below:

“To achieve such a milestone in the short time since the launch of Back 4 Blood is a historic event for our studio and this franchise. “As we look ahead, we’re excited to keep the momentum going with our upcoming expansion, Tunnels of Terror, which will offer more cooperative content for fans to continue cleansing the world of the Ridden,” Steve Goldstein, Turtle Rock Studios President and General Manager told.
The description for the first expansion reads, “teams of up to four friends can jump into an all-new co-op activity known as Ridden Hives, where they will explore seven different dungeons full of labyrinthine tunnels below the depths of Evansburgh that are infested with a new Ridden type, Warped Ridden. To claim exclusive loot and rewards only offered in Ridden Hives, players must outmaneuver and overcome the daunting new Warped Ridden, including the landmine-setting Urchins, monstrous Shredders, and damage-dealing Rippers. The new Warped Ridden variants are also playable in PvP Swarm mode.”
