The release of Hanger 13’s Mafia 3 back in 2016 was met with a stern reception due to the over-occupying amount of game breaking issues and bugs that plagues the title at launch. And while the team did manage to clear most of the insects out of the basement, the game did not bounce back as hoped which is saddening since the overall experience does make up for the wait exceeding its initial release.

Regardless of the underwhelming launch of the game, it looks that Hanger 13 is already striving ahead with yet another installment in the series and potentially returning to the studio’s prior work as well. According to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) website, three trademarks filed by 2K parent company Take-Two Interactive has been filed recently.

The first trademark bears the same fonted “Mafia” logo that was used for the first two installments of the series whilst the found holds a completely unique logo that was not used for prior title. Currently the two are only placeholder filings, but between both does however imply to be the fourth game for the franchise.

The more interesting of the three is the last trademark that features the same logo as the 2010 title Mafia 2: which directly references the most popular installment of the series, this does leave many fans anticipating that the highly-requested remaster for the game could potentially be upon us in the coming future. Although the filing does leave heavy implication for the modern tuning of the last gen title, this might just be a renewal of the trademark for Take-Two which should be noted.

Upon the three trademarks, a fourth unrelated to the Mafia series has also been filed by the publisher’s parent company. Following just a day after the filing of the three emerged this trademark which includes a new image of the Hanger 13 logo that labels all four connecting studios: Brno, Brighton, Prague, and Novato. For what this project might be has no real tangible evidence, but the rumors surrounding a new title under Hanger 13 does gain more foundation from this discovery ultimately.

What are you hoping these trademarks will bring from Hanger 13?
