Now eight flagship releases, RGG Studio’s Like a Dragon has culminated its most fulfilling release this year. “Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a game that will appeal to both fans and newcomers of the Like a Dragon series, as it provides a satisfying and accessible adventure that can be enjoyed by anyone,” our review for the game reads.” The game is a testament to the quality and creativity of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, and a celebration of the bonds we share.”
Of course, especially following the success of both Sonic the Hedgehog movies, Sega is interested in branching out transmedia for other IPs. Specifically, it mentioned both Like a Dragon as well as Persona. Additionally, legacy franchise Golden Axe was also greenlit for a TV show via Paramount Studios for a 10-episode animated series.
In a new announcement this week, Amazon & Sega announce Like a Dragon: Yakuza is set to release later this fall. The new television series will release in two parts later this autumn on Amazon Prime Video.
We are thrilled and extremely excited to announce the Amazon Original action-drama Like a Dragon: Yakuza, based on the popular Japanese game series. The unfettered appeal for Japanese content from within Japan and other parts of the world has been growing exponentially.
While Prime Video Japan continues to offer a variety of content across genres, adapting an internationally popular game franchise that has such deep resonance and layered characters presents a unique charm and makes for an extremely compelling watch. We are committed to augmenting our content library and are confident that Like a Dragon: Yakuza will strike a chord with audiences all over the world.
