Ubisoft Montreal’s Rainbow Six Siege since the game’s initial release back in 2015 has truly turned around to be one of the most popular titles this generation from the launching bugs that came with the game. The title since then has been faced with several seasonal updates, timed events, and even revamped its loot box system to a battle pass subscription to undo any more damage already done.
For this Halloween season, the Canadian studio announced that there will be a timed event running from this past Wednesday October 23rd all the way to November 6 in two weeks. Revealing the Doktor’s Curse event, Ubisoft advertises this limited experience to be a “special Hide and Seek mode,” where two groups of 5 must outlast the other before being eliminated.
Split between Attackers and Defenders, the objective for the defending ‘Monsters’ is to avoid being smashed by the ‘Exterminators’. On defense, the group of five is made up of reskinned Operators themed for the spooky event: Ela as a revenant, Frost as a demon, Kapkan as a reaper, Lesion as a zombie, and Smoke as a Zombie.
The remaining offense is compiled of “familiar” Operators equipped with a breaching hammer to eliminate these grim entities. The Attackers are also provided with Jackal’s Eyenox Model III, Lion’s EE-One-D, and Pulse’s Cardiac Sensor to assist in their hunt for the hiding monstrosities.
Provided for those who participate in this event will also be welcomed to The Collection which is made up of different in-game items players can unlock only through this timed experience. Varying over 28 different pieces of gear and weapon skins to choose from, players can earn said items through the respected Doktor’s Curse Collection packs for 300 R6 credits or by completing specialized event challenges.
In Rainbow Six-related news, it was announced today through Ubisoft’s latest financial report that the upcoming Rainbow Six Quarantine has been pushed to Q2 of next year.
Rainbow Six Siege is out now for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
