Come the end of this year, 2022, will mark the longest wait for a new mainline Assassin’s Creed title in the history for the franchise. Originally in 2018, Ubisoft decided to divide releases with a year in between to level expectations and not oversaturate the market. In 2020 as many fans are aware came Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. And the launch happened to be the biggest yet nearly doubling its 2018 predecessor, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

This past June, Ubisoft scheduled a second year of content for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla which ensured fans could continue playing the slowly aging title with fresh content as it churns out the next entry in the series. Part of that was ‘The Last Chapter’ which would tie together all lingering questions from the game. Of course, the story would come to a close eventually with Assassin’s Creed Mirage being announced this past September.

In a new announcement recently, Ubisoft reveals the update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is to ship this coming December 6th. Additionally, there are some greater quality of life features also being added too.

On December 6, we will be releasing our final content update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, wrapping up two amazing years of post-launch support. Title Update 1.6.2 will include some exciting new content for the game, including The Last Chapter, a touching and intimate conclusion to Eivor’s saga. This epilogue will tie up some of the storylines developed throughout the game and offer closure to your time among the Raven Clan.

Ubisoft lists a few bullet points required to activate this last endeavor for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Complete the main storyline by pledging to all territories of England; Complete the mythical story arcs of Asgard and Jotunheim; Upgrade your settlement to level 5 and construct the Jomsviking barracks; Kill all targets of the Order of the Ancients and unveil its leader.

Elsewhere in the blog post, Ubisoft also noted Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is despite the user outcry for New Game+, it will not be implemented for the game. However, fans that want to continue the immersion of being an assassin can find the new update will give players the option to endlessly wear a hood finally which will not overlap with the stealth mechanic in certain circumstances.

Earlier this fall, Ubisoft laid out the brickwork for Assassin’s Creed Infinity. With that it unveiled both ‘Project Red’ set in feudal Japan and ‘Project Hexe’ set during the Holy Roman Empire. At the same time it also shared a new endeavor on mobile ‘Project Jade’ set in ancient China is in development too. You can read the full report by heading here.
