Nearly a month ago, it was disclosed through a listing online which suggested that Volition’s 2011 Saint’s Row: The Third would be receiving a remastered edition of the game. This would be the third release of the game following the initial launch, for Nintendo Switch, and now for modern systems and PC.
However, unlike what we witnessed with the evidently ported version of the game to Nintendo Switch last year, this version actually brings new and improved graphics and textures for the game. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:
Developer Spearasoft – responsible for releases of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and Rainbow Six Siege – is helming the remastered project. What this new version of Saint’s Row: The Third is offering includes a transparent lighting system, detailed textures, reworked character models, and improved animations.
Continue watching the trailer begins to raise the question if this could be considered even a remaster with the amount of additional detail that was given to fundamental aspects of the game, alike with the recent remaster for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Alongside the evident upgrades pumped into the near decade-old game, fans deciding to pick up the game can also expect all 30+ DLCs that have dropped for the game as well.
One question that is raised now is if this version will squash the issues that the initial last generation versions suffered from due to inconsistent performance. Even on the Nintendo Switch version, the same problem was still on the surface of the game which was certainly disappointing for a port to newer hardware.
Do you plan on picking up the remaster for Saint’s Row: The Third?
Saint’s Row: The Third Remastered will be arriving to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Epic Game Store on May 22, 2020.
