WB Montreal’s Batman: Court Of Owls Leak Suggests Official Name & Playable Heroes

The ongoing trail of hints and other straggling pieces of information surrounding the now inevitable Batman Arkham title from developer Warner. Bros. Montreal looks to bring yet another tangent of detail for the unannounced project. This time coming from notorious leaker @New_WabiSabi on Twitter, the user tokes on the potential new name for this unnamed game.

As for the game’s title, it looks that the project would take after the previously discussed Damian Wayne game that was later delayed by inheriting the same name: Batman Arkham Legacy. Sabi then goes into details surrounding the “family” to be playable in the game as well.

Like already said that the game was rumored to adopt the title of a now-cancelled project, context to this would be mean more to the matter. Dialing back to 2016 when the Arkham Knight follow-up by the Canadian studio was working on the Damian Wayne project, the ‘Arkham Legacy’ name was filed into a web domain by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. That was until the project met its premature end and was not revisited until recently as the domain has been resurrected by the publisher.

Looking towards the meat of this rumor, Sabi referencing the family more respectively point towards the BatFamily, ergo the band of heroes that work alongside the Caped Crusader. Mainly implying that characters like Robin, Batgirl, and Nightwing would all return as playable characters. However, this does also expand to the possibilities of Catwoman and even antihero Red Hood seeing that the two have a close relationship with the Dark Knight, especially in the Arkham universe.

Also taking the implication of the emphasis on “playable,” the rumor also suggest that these heroes would be available to play throughout the timeline in the game’s story campaign; not solely as the Batman. So free-roam would apply to all the listed characters if this happens to be true also.

Associating the Court of Owls rumors from last month with Warner Bros. Montreal’s first installment Batman Arkham Origins, there could potentially be a reveal of some sorts this Friday which is also the day that the 2013 released. Alike today’s list of potential leaks, that and my prediction should still be taken lightly until properly revealed from either WB Montreal or the publisher themselves.

On the topic of this teased project, it was also revealed by Kevin Conroy that the voice actor will not be taking the cowl to play Batman for this unlabeled project. However, previous voice for Montreal’s Arkham Origins roger Craig Smith poked fun at this new “not a video game” with employees at Warner Bros.
