When Sony announced Lego Horizon Adventures it was a shock to everyone that not only will it come to PlayStation 5 and PC, but also the Nintendo Switch. It would be one of the first times the company would release a game based on its first-party IP on a platform that has been competing with PlayStation for a couple of decades.

The decision to release Lego Horizon Adventures multiplatform was made by the development team, not Lego. But how come Sony skipped an Xbox release for the game? According to Stephen Totilo from Game File, part of the reason is because the focus is on pushing PS5 hardware to its limits.

Another reason they chose to release Lego Horizon Adventure on Nintendo Switch over Xbox is because the Switch offered a younger audience and it’s more of a family-friendly console.

Sony did not specify any other reason why their upcoming Lego game will not be coming to Xbox, but some might say it’s due to the lack of console sales Xbox has had.

Lego Horizon Adventures will come to PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch this holiday. A release date has not been revealed yet.
