Xbox And Adidas Partner To Ship New “Always Played In. Never Played Out” Collection With New Adidas Forum Tech

Although Microsoft is noted for its push into the video game industry with Xbox IPs such as Halo, Gears of War, and Sea of Thieves, the firm in recent years continues to collaborate to stretch beyond the medium for its video game division. Previously, we witnessed the announcement of the arrangement for Lynx hygiene products, and even an Xbox Series X minifridge with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s ZAO more recently.

Upon looking at Sony Interactive Entertainment, the PlayStation company does a similar approach with Nike in delivering a new pair of shoes annually it seems now. The most recent comes in the form of the PG 5 PlayStation 5 colorway in collaboration with professional NBA Star Paul George. Elsewhere, Complex reports that Microsoft & Adidas is working for a new line of products for Xbox.

In it, the report references waves of products – namely shoes – that will be included in the arrangement. On Wednesday this week, the Xbox company officially announces the deal with a glimpse at an Original Xbox-inspired pair of Adidas Adidas Forum Tech. You can watch the promo trailer in the video below:

“The collab features an exclusive new adidas Originals by Xbox sneaker — the Xbox 20th Forum Tech — with translucent green details inspired by the special edition release of the original Xbox console for the launch of Halo: Combat Evolved in 2001, marking the first-ever generation of gaming at Microsoft.” James Monosmith, Xbox Consumer Products Senior Sales & Marketing Manager says on the announcement.

“The adidas Forum Tech design balances nostalgia while embracing modern technology and is symbolic of how we look at our own Xbox history — celebrating the last 20 years and looking ahead to the limitless future of gaming.” The blog post reveals an ongoing series reflecting on the eras video games experienced since Xbox’s inception with the new ‘Always Played In. Never Played Out’ program.

“This is just the beginning of our partnership with adidas, and over the next few months we’ll continue to mark our 20th anniversary by launching additional sneakers inspired by past and present Xbox console generations, including the first-ever sneaker available for purchase by our fans later this year.” You can view the official Adidas Forum page for similar shoes by heading here.
