Xbox Game Pass Breaks 10 Million Subscribers, Microsoft Reveals

For a couple years now, Microsoft has continued to shovel in more interest towards users to indulge in the steadily growing momentum that is Xbox Game Pass. The streaming service that acts primarily like Netflix for video games offers a myriad of anticipated titles including independently-developed projects and first-party entries which has shown to be the most prosperous in contrast to other similar initiatives.

Now only with the service’s platform aimed for console, but Microsoft has also tapped into PC as well which has trafficked in even more active users since its announcement nearly a year ago. And with the ongoing pandemic that has been taken a toll on global society, we have witnessed extensive growth on all fronts including Microsoft’s ecosystem.

According to the most recent Earnings Release for the fiscal year, Microsoft has shared that Xbox Game Pass has exceeded into 8-digits. Announcing that the service is now comprised of over 10 million users as of late. Even more, growth overall has grown immensely since the beginning of last month Xbox Head Phil Spencer revealed in a recent blog post.

Since March, Xbox Game Pass members have added over 23 million friends on Xbox Live, which is a 70% growth in friendship rate. Game Pass members are also playing twice as much and engaging in more multiplayer gaming, which has increased by 130%.

The intuitive accessibility of Xbox Game Pass has ushered players to be experimentative with the games at their disposal to enter uncharted waters for potential new favorites. Back in October, Microsoft shared that Xbox Game Pass has tracked more than 90 percent of users on the service to attempt a title they would regularly not play. Spencer enforces the claim by sharing that this interest increases playtime of new games by 40 percent.

Not only is the service an open door to new opportunity in expanding your taste, but it is also convenient to own. Microsoft establishing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate offering both the game-streaming service alongside Xbox Live Gold has shown to be a favorable option over paying for both services separately. The duos of service has also as of recent introduced more timed offers including Spotify Premium, Discord Nitro, and EA Access.
