Xbox One Version For Crea-ture Studios’ Session Pushed To Spring

It has been well over a year since Crea-ture Studios revealed the then-upcoming skateboarding sim Session at the Microsoft-host Xbox Press Conference in 2018. Developing into 2019 the following year, it was revealed that the game would be coming to the Xbox Preview Program following the Early Access debut on Steam just a month prior. However, while the title released on PC as scheduled, the Xbox version was shoved later into fall 2019.

But as the autumn season transitioned to winter, there was still no sign of Session on the Xbox platform. And now on the verge of spring in March next month, Crea-ture Studios has finally returned with new information regarding the port for Microsoft’s hardware.

In an announcement coinciding with the recent Update 0.0.3 for the respected version on Steam, the Canadian video game developer disclosed that Xbox users will have to wait until spring later on in 2020.

We have teamed up with a local experienced studio called ILLOGIKA. They’ll be working with us on the XBOX version! This will help get the game on your consoles this spring! Now we have a dedicated team working on the Xbox version, while we remain focused on improving and building Session.

Although not specifically revealing a set date for the game to arrive to Xbox, we do have a better understanding of the situation seeing that Crea-ture Studios had to call in an external party to assist in making the game a reality for console players. Now developer ILLOGIKA, the team who assisted in the development for Studio MDHR’s Cuphead, will be working solely on the Xbox version whilst Crea-ture continues on softening the experience on PC.

The development team released a new update for Session which introduces a bundle of new feature to the game. Additions such as fluid grind animations, a new radio station, more responsive trick system, upgraded DIY spot creator, and Steam Streaming support. The team also implemented Big Drop Landings which add consequence to your character for those lengthier air time tricks.

Do you own Session or plan to pick it up on Xbox?

Session is out now on Steam Early Access; coming to Xbox One in spring 2020.
