Back in September, fans were instantly drawn to the screen when discovering that Nintendo and Monolithsoft is planning to reintroduce the initial Xenoblade Chronicles with a remaster of the original 2010 Wii title. While not much has been said since then about the game officially from either company, we did, however, learn ahead of the latest reveal that arrived earlier today.
According to a report that surfaced online back in January, Danish retailer Cool Shop listed Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition to arrive at the end of May later on in 2020. While this should only be contended as a rumor, some felt otherwise as the company has accurately disclosed listings for other games prior to the one at the beginning of the year.
Fast forwarding to today’s Nintendo Direct Mini, Nintendo officially unveiled that Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition will be arriving the same date that was listed previously. You can watch the full trailer in the video below:
As you would expect from a rework of a near decade old title, this time around Xenoblade Chronicles will play to a higher standard in both resolution as well as its performance on Nintendo Switch. Even more, the game is also said to feature “improved battle HUD and menus, more than 90 remastered music tracks” along with an additional epilogue to the base game.
While not much detail is provided on the story capper that was advertised in the trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles: Future Connected, the description of the video shares that Shulk and Melia go for one more adventure following the conclusion of the initial storyline. Fans of the game are urged to “look forward to one more adventure“ with this new added content.
In other news that is scheduled to release later in May, 2K revealed that Bioshock: The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, and XCOM 2 Collection will be shipping the same day as Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. You can read the full report by heading here.
How excited are you to play Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition later this spring?
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch on May 29, 2020.
