Although recognized as a talented team with veteran leadership Vince Zampella at the helm, there has been an upsetting amount of canceled projects at Respawn Entertainment. Probably the most damaging for many fans is Titanfall 3. According to Mohammad Alavi, a former developer, he said the anticipated sequel was in development for 10 months before being shelved indefinitely.

Additionally, other projects in that universe was also shuttered at Respawn Entertainment too. In 2023, it was revealed that the developer was working on a single player experience for Apex Legends before the team ultimately pulled the plug on it. Another anticipated IP that was canceled at the game studio was a Mandalorian project that got killed off in 2024.

Now according to InsiderGaming, yet another incubation project at Respawn Entertainment has been canceled. The outlet preserved a now-deleted LinkedIn post revealing the news. “The unannounced incubation project I was a part of for the past year was canceled this week, so I am joining the group of extremely talented and kind people in the games industry searching for a new role.” the post read from former production coordinator Emilee Evans.

Separately from IGN, it was understood from sources that the title was a multiplayer first-person shooter. This coincides with a job listing for an untitled project at the developer discovered last year. “In collaboration with the team, develop and refine a design vision that supports the overall game direction and project goals. Lead the identification of major game design needs, drive the invention and implementation of key features, and achieve successful results from a player-centric perspective,” the posting reads.

Although the contents of the incubation project is uncertain, it was reported that Respawn Entertainment has been piecing together a new Titanfall experience internally. Jeff Grubb in spring 2024 claimed a new title was in development and only touching the prototype phase then. You can read the full report by heading here.
