For those that might not recall, the leading up to E3 this past June was further fueled with excitement from statements that broke out then. In that, Bloomberg Tech’s Jason Schreier at the time told that 2K is scheduling to unveil some exciting projects very soon. The first happened to be a previously rumored spin-off title from Gearbox Software. But, hesitation did grow since the studio’s founder denounced the claims.
Regardless, Summer Game Fest later went on to feature the alleged title announcing ‘Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands’, a fantasy experience scheduled to arriving next year in 2022. Another project was said to be a Marvel XCOM project. Schreier goes back as far as 2018 disclosing details on the game at the time. But, the title has yet to break the airwaves since the report back in June.
Excitingly, the lid was removed during Gamescom Opening Night Live on Wednesday. During that, Firaxis Games & 2K unveiled Marvel’s Midnight Suns. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:
“Through a twisted marriage of magic and science, the nefarious force known as Hydra has revived Lilith, Mother of Demons, after centuries of slumber. Lilith will stop at nothing to complete an ancient prophecy and summon her evil master, Chthon.,” an overview for the game reads from 2K.
“Pushed to the brink, the Avengers desperately look to fight fire with Hellfire by enlisting the help of the Midnight Suns – Nico Minoru, Blade, Magik, and Ghost Rider – young heroes with powers deeply rooted in the supernatural, formed to prevent the very prophecy Lilith aims to fulfill. Together, they resurrect an ancient warrior – the Hunter, Lilith’s forsaken child and the only hero known to have ever defeated her.”
Howbeit, that is not the only AAA Marvel title shipping in the next couple of months. Previously, Square Enix and Eidos Montreal revealed Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. The game is scheduled to arrive later this fall and feature the storyline with Star Lord as the game’s protagonist. You can read the full report by heading here.
