Well before the inception of Halo Infinite, 343 Industries remained to be one of the most transparent developers in terms of communicating with the player base that followed it through Halo: The Master Chief Collection. With that for the team, the 2014 title later became a redemption for the developer as it evolved into the promise initially expected.
Now with the newest entry of Halo out for more than a month – nearly two – 343 Industries continues to press on matters affecting players the most. In that, we’ve witnessed its commentary on adding new game modes shortly after launch alongside pressing on the ongoing issue with Big Team Battle as well.
Earlier on, the studio told that its intentions for the Item Shop would be revitalized with reduced pricing – which has since been acted upon. Additionally, Halo Credits are to be issued in the coming battle pass for Season 2.
We are happy to confirm Credits will be earnable in Season 2’s Battle Pass. That means you will be able to earn Credits as part of your Halo Infinite progression. We’ll have more to share on this as we get closer to Season 2.

Elsewhere, 343 Industries went on to address the situation with the problems plaguing Big Team Battle with its update slated for this week. “Using the telemetry we received from the hotfix on January 19, we were able to make a new build with an update that we believe should address the core issue impacting the BTB playlist.” This Thursday, the developer sent out a new update which appears to resolve all problems that hindered the experience for the game mode.
“Matchmaking service improvements for Big Team Battle (BTB). Players should find full matches quicker and more consistently,” the patchwork reads from the Halo Support page. Most importantly is the continued campaign for the Item Shop for Halo Infinite. While it is a free-to-play experience first and foremost, there needs to be a consistent pipeline of revenue to keep the game alive.
The team tells it will continue to evaluate elements of the storefront moving forward with season 2 slowly approaching the horizon later this year. “Our quick shift post holidays was in recognition that we were not delivering on value, quality, or price. The offers we are running now, and will continue to run throughout S1, are to help us learn what is working and what’s not. This will take time, but we know that our learnings here will positively impact Season 2 right off the bat.”
