“Game design is an art and Remedy Entertainment have created something of a masterpiece with Alan Wake 2. The four long years of development have paid off, and the passion and love from the studio truly speaks for itself,” our review for Alan Wake II reads. Among the highly-anticipated releases that came before it, even Remedy Entertainment’s new release was nominated for Game of the Year for this annual The Game Awards recently.
From those that are familiar with the new title, Alan Wake II also happens to be a project which appears to be built up since the original Max Payne. And although the firm has not addressed if Sam Lake will return to the role in the remakes, he does give a very similar portrayal as Alex Casey in the new title. And looking beyond Alan Wake II, it is confirmed that more content – both free & premium – will be coming, it’s promised.
According to a new report from ScreenRant, the upcoming New Game+ mode for Alan Wake II is to feature more narrative to the main plot. Dubbed The ‘Final Draft’, the plot is to be altered with additional manuscript pages coming that furthers the story of the base game that influences a completely new conclusion ultimately, it is said.
Of course, this still remains separate from the add-on stories that are to come in post-launch. But, with added context to bring a new ending to Alan Wake II will bring m0re incentive to players to explore Bright Falls and The Dark Place a second time. Even more, it also adds to those looking to regather any missing collectibles that might have been overlooked during the initial runthrough as well.
In the context of the DLC though, there is the chance that more references to the greater Remedy Connected Universe is to take place. Back during the post-launch of Control, DLC ‘AWE’ came out which officially bridged the IP to Alan Wake. And now it is evident that more of the franchises from the Finnish team are also paired as well to this game. You can read the full report by heading here.
