Although the Halo franchise was a legacy IP for Microsoft since the inception of Xbox, Halo Infinite is a different breed for the series. While previous entries were targeted to be a premium release for $60 retail, the newest entry is striving for the free-to-play service – at least for the multiplayer. With that comes to suggest Microsoft will earn its revenue via in-game purchases and monthly payments for Xbox Game Pass.

Although Microsoft does not disclose exact revenue or sales per quarter on its product for the video game division anymore, the firm does remark on its milestones in terms of player activity. This week, it was revealed Halo Infinite since launching just over a month ago has welcomed over 20 million players to the game.
