As the clock ticks and the pages on the calendar turns, Respawn Entertainment does not cease on new content for Apex Legends. Three years later with the Titanfall, online-only spin-off and Season 14 – Hunted brings yet another unique Legend, Vantage. But, there is more than just the main set of platforms. It was not too long before that we witnessed the addition of Rhapsody to Apex Legends Mobile earlier this summer.

Looking ahead, word did break out that Respawn Entertainment is occupied with another project concerning Apex Legends. From one job listing, it remarks on expanding the greater “Apex Legends Universe” or whatever that means. Perhaps it is only using popular language to camouflage its efforts on the long-awaited Titanfall 3? Only time will tell.

In a new announcement on Friday, the developer revealed the new Beast of Prey Collection Event for Apex Legends. The limited-time event will take place from September 20th to October 4th. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:

Most interesting is the new game mode, Gun Run. Similar to Call of Duty’s Gun Game, you progress by killing enemies and with that provides a new firearm as you climb the leaderboard. “Go head-to-head against 3 other squads in a race to master a wide range of weapons. Each time you get a kill with a weapon, you leapfrog over teammates and are given the next highest weapon on the track. Play as a team and get through the track as fast as you can, with some help from infinite ammo, health items and automatic respawns.

“Your next weapon is previewed above your current weapon, as well as the next one after that. The boost value lets you know how many weapons you will skip on the track with your next kill. When scoring, if you’re currently in the lead on your squad, you will simply move to the next weapon on the track without skipping any. The final weapon in the track is a new exclusive throwing knife, which will be available in the firing range for practice during the event. Work together as a team and be the first squad to score a kill with the throwing knife to win the match!”

Are you excited for the Beast of Prey Collection Event?

Apex Legends is out now for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS.
