Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends continues to reshape itself as it progresses from its originally abrupt launch back in February 2019. After a year of the Xbox Series & PlayStation 5 release, native support for the newest console hardware officially shipped. However, namely compatibility for the 120hz mode is still absent, but is promised to be added at a later time.
Despite that, the developer is still working on supporting the game with new events and additional content. Recently, the game just concluded on its Unshackled Event which reintroduced a fan-favorite game mode, Flashpoint. However, there is more on the way in a very short time. Season 13 is among the coming days.
Over the course of the past week, the team has revealed new Legend Newcastle and its most recent gameplay trailer reveals the launch of Season 13 – Savoirs for next week. You can watch the footage in the video below:
In addition to the new playable character, Storm Point is improving with new IMC Armories where players can fight off automated Spectres from Titanfall and a new Point of Interest has been added which tied into the lore of the game. “With this being the first map update to Storm Point, our goal was to add new content and improve map features while not subtracting anything.
“We added a brand-new POI; a washed up sea creature known as the Downed Beast—which is a unique combat experience for Apex Legends—an organic combat zone, and a refreshing change from man-made architecture,” says Senior Level Designer Keith Jensen.
