When it comes to system overhauls over at Xbox, Microsoft has acted and delivered on bringing a more seamless experience to its users. While the launch of the Xbox One has been a ongoing remodeling of its UI, the Xbox firm has continuously worked on improving this. In 2020, we saw this with the complete reworked Xbox Store to bring an easier to navigate & responsive experience to its users.

Additionally, the Xbox UI as a whole is also in the works for a redesign as well. In a statement from Microsoft previously, the new Xbox Series generation will pioneer a new look for the Xbox dashboard after launching with the same One era look since 2020. So far, there has yet to be a blanket release for this new UI look, but it is slated to ship sometime in 2023.

As for current updates, the Xbox search system is being remodeled this month and is nearing its arrival. The new feature is said to bring an experience easier on the eye than the current layout for Xbox owners.

Looking for your next favorite game, movie, and more? You can search for games, entertainment, and apps using the refreshed console search page. This includes a sleek new look, gallery-style results, visible filter categories navigable with RB/LB, the option to “search on YouTube” within the Movies & TV tab, and more. To open the search experience, tap the search button on the top of the dashboard, find the magnifying glass icon within the guide, or press Y on your controller anywhere within the console UI.

The same update also features a new adjustment setting for when you play actively during the day. “If you select Shutdown (energy saving), it will help conserve power and enable carbon aware updates on your Xbox. If you select the Sleep power option, you can now adjust active hours to have the console ready to wake up when you’re likely to use it and shut down at the times you select to save energy.

“When your Xbox’s active hours are done for the day, the console will fully shut down and draw 0.5 watts as compared to 10-15 watts while active,” it adds. This is no secret for Xbox as the firm has already introduced energy saving features as part of a new initiative of last Earth Day back in 2022. You can read the full report by heading here.
