In regards to Konami’s potential plans for its most recognized video game franchises, faith currently remains in alleged statements for the time being. So far, Video Game Chronicles initially told plans for a Silent Hill game is to be in development with an announcement aimed for this summer. However, that reveal never came to fruition.

It is understood that the unveiling was withheld following the later announcement by Konami as it withdrew its attendance from E3 which as originally scheduled for this June. But, the Japanese firm did note to be forming a new partnership with Bloober Team which suggests the game is to be outsourced to the Polish developer if it happens to be true. Prior to that, the publisher went on to file two trademarks for Metal Gear Solid alongside Castlevania this spring.

This week, Video Game Chronicles told from claims familiar with Konami’s playbook that a remake for Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is underway. Even more, the claims tell that the Virtuous Games is being helmed for the project utilizing the Fox Engine. Additionally, Video Game Chronicles adds that Castlevania is also receiving revision as well.

With this, the alleged project is said to be a “reimaging” from Konami directly while third-party teams are said to aid the game’s development. However, there is more uncertainty surrounding the alleged title. While the original Metal Gear Solid games are receiving re-releases for current systems, it is unsure if more games from the Castlevania branch will be included as well that tap into the 3D realm alike the Kojima franchise.

This is not the first instance of a supposed Castlevania reworking as a major rumor last year insisted a similar ambition then. Recently, Konami did happen to ship a new Castlevania game. However, the new title – Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls – released as a unique 2D platformer over on Apple Arcade. You can read the full report by heading here.
