Now just after a month since the initial release for CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077, the current state of the game is well beyond what many fans perceived the title would be at. For one, the title is not available for purchase on PlayStation Stores stretching across PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 5 still. Even more, the game is still plagued with plenty issues that are said to be addressed with future fixes scheduled for January and February.
But looking ahead, CD Projekt Red left an update to discuss what exactly lies ahead for the team’s latest release after the controversy uncovered as the game hit store shelves. While major updates are set to arrive in the coming weeks, the developer says its campaign of free DLC is planned to drop following the game-fixing clients going live.

“Our big plans for supporting Cyberpunk in the long term did not change,” Marcin Iwinski, CD Projekt Red co-founder tells. “As for the free DLCs, our initial plan was to deliver them just after the release, much like we did with The Witcher 3. We decided to focus on the most important fixes and updates first and will be releasing the DLCs afterwards.”
As for the promised next-generation update for Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, the client is now scheduled to arrive in the second half of 2021. If plans went according to plan, it was perceived the update would have released sometime in spring. And for the planned expansions for the game – all paid additional content had been shelved until prioritized updates for the title is administered for Cyberpunk 2077.
Despite the outrage against Cyberpunk 2077 in its first month alone, the game still remained to be the most played and top purchased title on Steam. Leading up to its release, the game did not shake off its vigor from fans that waited nearly a decade for launch day. You can read the full report by heading here.
