As to Microsoft’s continued campaign to further influence the video game industry, the firm on Thursday has pressed on some exciting ambitions aimed leading forward. In regards to Xbox Game Pass, the service is told to be expecting a smart TV app thanks to ongoing negotiations with manufacturers. Additionally, xCloud is also mentioned in terms of a dedicated device for users to play without needing a larger unit.

Elsewhere in the same blog post, Microsoft also elaborated on the advancement of xCloud on PC. In that, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate owners can anticipate the service to be available on most major web browsers including Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, and Google Chrome. Moreover, the Xbox company also pressed that the Xbox app on PC is also expecting xCloud enabled later this year as well.

In a new statement from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, he explains that Microsoft’s pursuit to help evolve the market in terms of video games will continue.

Gaming has been key to Microsoft from our earliest of days. Our oldest currently supported software franchise is in fact our game Microsoft Flight Simulator, which we released three years before the first version of Windows, even. Gaming is fundamentally aligned and woven into our mission as a company.

When you talk about Xbox’s mission to bring the joy and community of gaming to everyone on the planet, which I absolutely love, this is precisely what I think of when we think about Microsoft’s mission, which is to empower every person, every organization on the planet to achieve more.

As a company, Microsoft’s all-in on gaming. We believe we can play a leading role in democratizing gaming and defining that future of interactive entertainment, quite frankly, at scale. There are really three, I think, areas or key areas where we believe we have incredible competitive advantage. First is our leadership in cloud computing; second, the resources we have to build out the subscription value with Xbox Game Pass; and third is our overall focus on empowering creators. I’m really excited about the opportunity in gaming.

Previously, Nadella has also went on to comment on the impressive launch lineup for Xbox Series X|S. While not first-party evidently, the number of titles shipping day one for the platform was framed to be the largest yet, Nadella said. “In content, we are delivering differentiated, first and third-party content to attract and retain gamers. Xbox Series X will launch this fall with the largest launch lineup for any console ever.”

Gathered from the video with Xbox lead Phil Spencer and Nadella, the conversation appears to be part of a segment for the forthcoming Xbox-Bethesda showcase arriving later this weekend. The E3-affiliated show is told to go live on June 13, 2021 at 10 AM PST / 1 PM EST. You can read the full report by heading here.
