Microsoft To Welcome xCloud On Browser To All Subscribers “In The Coming Weeks”, Xbox PC App To Find Support In The Fall

In the brief window that xCloud has been released to the public from its closed playtesting prior, the service is proving to shape up more than many anticipated. From Mojang Studios, the developer was baffled to view Minecraft Dungeons become a large influencer on mobile streaming in particular. Speaking with Windows Central, the developer shares that user activity jumped roughly 40 percent on xCloud which is expected due to the early implementation of touch screen controls at the time.

But, Microsoft is not adamant to halt its pursuit just yet. In a recent report from the Apple V. Epic Games court case, Xbox lead Phil Spencer explained to Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney that he’s eager to pursue xCloud on new platforms as well. Spencer prior to the release of the documents also commented on a streaming stick for xCloud as well not requiring hardware to use the service as well.

Currently, xCloud while available on Android is still in limited testing for iOS & PC. Although disclosure on expanding for more players on Apple devices is still unclear, Microsoft told that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate users can find browser streaming for xCloud to be available fairly soon.

In the next few weeks, cloud gaming on the browser will open to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members. With Edge, Chrome, and Safari support, players will be a click away from gaming on almost any device.

Additionally, the Xbox company also went on to press that the Xbox app is also to find xCloud enabled on there as well. “Later this year, we’ll add cloud gaming directly into the Xbox app on PC and integrate it into our console experience to light up scenarios like try before you download.”

Elsewhere in the blog post on Xbox Wire, Microsoft spoke on its future aims for xCloud and the greater Xbox Game Pass. Firstly, the firm is speaking with TV manufacturers to work on a dedicated Xbox Game Pass app for smart televisions. Also, the company went on to acknowledge its pursuit to work on an xCloud device as well. You can read the full report by heading here.
