Earlier this month, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Firewalk Studios officially shut down Concord’s servers after a very underwhelming release. The game peaked at 697 players on Steam and it wasn’t much more on PlayStation 5. It was reported before the multiplayer game was taken down that it only sold 25,000 units worldwide.
It is not being reported that Concord’s development cost $400 million and it was referred to as “The Future of PlayStation”. This information comes from Colin Moriarty, a popular podcast host where he shares that he spoke to someone who worked on Concord.
I spoke extensively with someone who worked on Concord, and it's so much worse than you think.
It was internally referred to as "The Future of PlayStation" with Star Wars-like potential, and a dev culture of "toxic positivity" halted any negative feedback.

Clearly, Sony had large plans for Concord, but unfortunately, players spoke by not purchasing the game and providing negative feedback before it was even released. Firewalk Studios or Sony have not responded to the claim on how much the cost of development was.
Despite the downfall of Concord, Amazon kept the episode featuring the game for its TV Series, Secret Level.
As always with reports like these we have to take this with a grain of salt.
