Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Hits Netflix On September 13th

Before the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, ahead of what fans and many players learned what the state of Cyberpunk 2077 really was internally when it hit Xbox One & PlayStation 4, CD Projekt Red already had other opportunities planned for the IP. In collaboration with Netflix & Studio Trigger (Kill La Kill) to create a new anime series.

Titled Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, little was shared aside from a single image and a release window slated for 2022. Later on in June, Netflix revealed the first look at the production with a trailer. Not only that, but the footage ended revealing that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners would be releasing sometime in September 2022.

Now in a new trailer that was uploaded this week, we learn that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is slated to release on September 13th. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:

“In a dystopia riddled with corruption and cybernetic implants, a talented but reckless street kid strives to become a mercenary outlaw — an edgerunner,” the synopsis for the show reads over on Netflix’s website. The show is said to feature 10 episodes at release, but runtime per episode was not issued. Details if a Season 2 has yet to be revealed.

As for other Netflix news this week, a report from Deadline shares that Resident Evil has already been canceled. While the live-action series appeared to be ambitious for the property, the TV show plateaued within its first month on the platform. You can read the full report by heading here.
