Today being left with less than one day until the Xbox Series X|S and three for the PlayStation 5, developer Behaviour Interactive announces that the long-beloved Dead by Daylight will be readied for the release of the two next-generation consoles. The game was previously reported to be getting the next-gen treatment earlier this September as part of ‘The Beyond Realm’ initiative to welcome in the reworked visuals for the game.
In the new announcement, which is relayed by Gematsu that transcribed the press release, Behaviour Interactive tells that progress from Xbox One & PlayStation 4 will follow the player to the new system of the respected console family. Even if you claimed the game through the free program on either system, the game will be upgraded for free.
Even more, the graphical update campaign for Dead by Daylight is still in motion and is told to continue to unravel following into post-launch for both systems.
Dead by Daylight will run at 60 frames per second and 4K resolution on new consoles. Moreover, the “Realm Beyond” graphical update will continue and the team will release regular content drop for free, as is the case on all other platforms. The developers are hard at work, overhauling the maps, characters, animations, visual effects, and more, truly bringing the game to a new, even more immersive level.
Gathered from both trailers of the game for Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5, the description for Dead by Daylight also includes that cross-play will be supported as well. “With Cross-Play, take on the Trials together and play with friends on any PC & console platforms.” So alike on current systems Behaviour Entertainment released previously, all platforms will be bridged together.
In relevancy to current game carring over to the next-generation of consoles, Rockstar Games pressed on the matter by revealing its lineup of backwards compatible titles for both consoles. You can read the full report by heading here.
