Deal For Mass Effect TV Series Nearing Agreement For Amazon Studios In Recent Report

While developer BioWare is still helming the rough landing of both Mass Effect Andromeda & Anthem from the last console generation, the game studio is looking to undo the damage from that time. In a recent development post by the team, BioWare expressed its desire to remove the blanket reputation that remained over the head of the developer for the past few years alongside re-earning the trust of its fanbase as well.

For one approach to dig BioWare out of this hole is with a new mainline game. So far, the team has unveiled the next entry for the Mass Effect IP back in December 2020, but details on the project has yet to be revealed. Elsewhere, there is speculation that a new Mass Effect television series is in the works as well. One nod to the possibility comes from an Instagram post by Henry Cavill last February.

Additionally, BioWare itself even comments on a Mass Effect TV show previously when Mass Effect Legendary Edition game director Mac Walters explains the series fits that medium over film – suggesting it could be in the works. From Deadline last month, Amazon Studios is reportedly close to seizing a deal for a Mass Effect TV show.

However, it is uncertain how soon information on the supposed television series will surface following the statement.

Other BioWare plans includes another flagship entry for the Dragon Age IP as well. Revealed at the same time as the new Mass Effect title, there is little details on the project.
