Doom + Doom II Available Today, Doom Anthology Coming Later This Fall

For decades, Bethesda has built up a legacy for some of the most definitive titles to turn multiple genres. From one corner, developer MachineGames since remaking Wolfenstien has stood to be a tentpole team for its effort. In 2020, the firm celebrated this with the Wolfenstein: Alt History Collection which compiled all entries in the series.

Additionally, Fallout is another IP that continues to ring in the mind of many players. Earlier in 2024, Bethesda Game Studios encapsulated its legacy with the Fallout ‘S.P.E.C.I.A.L.’ Anthology including all current entries for the series. And looking forward, id Software is continuing to establish the Doom franchise with a new installment coming in 2025 – Doom: The Dark Ages.

Now in a new announcement from QuakeCon 2024, id Software reveals Doom + Doom II is out now across all platforms. This version includes new enhancements that prior remasters were missing for the latest systems. You can watch the trailer in the video below:

“DOOM + DOOM II brings two of gaming’s most cherished first-person shooters and brings them to modern platforms as one single package, complete with new content and added enhancements! Players will get both the original and re-release versions of DOOM + DOOM II, as well as online Co-op and Deathmatch multiplayer modes, cross-platform support, a brand-new episode – Legacy of Rust – and more!” the description reveals.

What’s more, a new Doom Anthology is planned to release later this fall which includes the entire Doom spectrum thus far. It will include DOOM (1993), DOOM II, DOOM 64, DOOM 3, DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal Deluxe Edition. There is also a physical edition planned that includes a steelbook and 5-inch LED light-up replica BFG.
