After the arrival for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, fans were hopeful a follow-up duology would come. But after uncertainty initially, the namesake professional skateboarder did hint that an announcement that “fans will appreciate.” It wasn’t until March 2025 that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 was announced. Even more, the game would launch day & date for Xbox Game Pass as well.
Amid the wait for the next remastered collection of beloved arcade skating titles, there was an update on what Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will be available for. In the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct then, it was confirmed that the title is coming to the new console. The date was soon cemented for July 11th. Additionally, the demo for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 also went live most recently.
Now with a playable chunk of the game now out there for players to indulge in, Activision is back with a glowing update on traction for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4. In that, the approaching release was faced with immense activity in its demo where the publisher deemed the playtest “the biggest THPS demo”. The firm did not go further to elaborate on specific numbers, but was energetic to share that information nonetheless.
“Breaking our personal HIGH SCORE! Thanks to our community for the biggest #THPSDemo ever!” the X post that disclosed this milestone reads. Noted, the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 also exceeded expectations initially as well. Following the game’s release, the title went on to sell over one million units then.
Around the same time as the demo going live, Activision did also go ahead embracing one of the oversights since the announcement for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4.
