One of the pinnacle franchises at the turn of the century is Tony Hawk Pro Skater. Evolving from its arcade structure to story-driven titles and approaching grounded installments towards the tail end, the series did go full circle with Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2. And there certainly is a demand for more. In its first month, the title sold over a million copies – a milestone for the series.

As for more in that vein, chances did appear to dry up. Developer Vicarious Visions was revealed to be absorbed by Blizzard Entertainment. It was later reported the team has moved on as a support team for Diablo under the publisher. However, titular athlete Tony Hawk did mention that efforts for a Tony Hawk 3+4 was in the works at one point, but is no longer on the table.

But according the the professional skateboarder during an interview with Mythical Kitchen, he is having discussions with Activision which he cannot disclose much about. From what he did specify is said to surely have fans excited. You can watch the segment of the interview in the video below:

“I wish I can tell you more, but I can tell you that I have been talking to Activision again,” Hawk explained, “which is insanely exciting. We’re working on something […] that’s the first time I’ve said that publicly. I can’t give any details […] But I think it will be something the fans will truly appreciate.” Hawk does jokingly confirm it is not contact lenses that make you skateboard during the exchange.

And it’s not to say more classic Activision games are to come. After the deal passed for Microsoft’s $70 billion acquisition for the publisher, chatter did begin to build on legacy IPs making a return. One of them is Guitar Hero which former CEO Bobby Kotich hinted at before. You can read the full report by heading here.
